Three swipes to a tidy library

Swipe right to keep, left to delete, up to favorite — two minutes a day clears out years of screenshots, bursts and near-duplicates. No account, no uploads; deletes are always two-step with a 30-day undo window.

How it works

One round, three steps

01

Pick a pool × range

Single-select a pool and a date range in one drawer — one tap starts the round.

02

Swipe three ways

One photo at a time. Direction stamps follow your finger; the three buttons mirror the gestures exactly.

Review & settle

A grid review before anything is deleted — tap any photo to rescue it. Only then do photos reach Recently Deleted.

Session

Fast to judge, safe to regret

Gestures
Three-way swipes + three buttons

Right keeps, left deletes, up favorites; vertical intent wins on diagonal swipes so you never delete by accident. Buttons share the exact same fly-out logic as gestures.

Undo
Single-step undo · resume anywhere

Every judgment can be undone (it even refunds your daily quota). Leave mid-round and Sweep resumes on the same photo — even after a force quit.

Viewer
Full-screen viewer

Tap a card to expand it in place: pinch to zoom, double-tap, press-and-hold to play Live Photos. Videos get a custom player with a scrubber, plus one-tap pseudo-fullscreen for landscape clips. Swipe up or down to dismiss.

Rounds
Round size, your call

12 / 24 / 48 per round, or Endless mode that runs until the pool is empty — settle manually anytime. Shorter rounds are easier to keep up.

Combo
Combos & haptics

Consecutive judgments raise a combo counter with distinct haptic feedback — a bit of game feel for a chore.

Pool × Range

Pools × date ranges: pick what and when

Content and time are orthogonal dimensions. Multiply them and you get a session like "Screenshots · July 2026" — one tap away.

Five pools

Random (default) · Screenshots (fastest to judge) · Largest first (big files first) · Duplicates & bursts (keep one per set) · Live Photos (with paired MOV). Each pool shows a live count and size.

Four ranges

All time · Last 30 days · This year · A specific month. The month grid sorts by remaining size so the heaviest month jumps out; finished months fade. Empty combos never error — you get three tappable ways out instead.

Two-step delete

Deletes are two-step, with three layers of undo

Mark
Rounds only mark

A left swipe just queues the photo. The queue persists across sessions — quit anytime, nothing is lost, nothing is deleted.

Review
Grid review, tap to rescue

Every delete passes through a review grid; tap any photo to rescue it. "Rescue all" asks for confirmation too.

30 days
System safety net

Confirmed deletes go to the system's Recently Deleted, recoverable for 30 days. Sweep's own Recently Deleted view tracks every batch with a D-N countdown and one-tap access to the Photos app to reclaim space.

Mac companion

Archive the keepers to your Mac, losslessly

Sweep Companion (macOS) receives the originals you favorited — the only second-device pipeline in this category.

Pairing
Trust via pairing code

Bonjour discovers your Mac on the same Wi-Fi; a six-digit code is verified by hand once, then a stored key reconnects automatically.

Transport
Peer-to-peer, encrypted

TLS-encrypted, LAN-only, no servers involved. Interrupted transfers resume automatically — verified files are skipped, only gaps are resent.

Lossless
The actual originals

Sweep moves the HEIC / RAW files themselves, not re-compressed copies. EXIF, GPS and camera parameters stay byte-identical; Live Photos travel as HEIC+MOV pairs.

Verify
SHA-256 on both ends

Every file is hashed after landing and compared with the phone. Only when everything matches does Sweep offer to free up phone space — unverified photos can never enter the delete queue.

XMP
Tags as XMP sidecars

Your tags live in matching .xmp files; originals stay untouched, and Lightroom / Bridge read them natively. Monthly subfolders, and name clashes get a suffix — nothing is ever overwritten.

Inspector
Metadata inspector

Click any thumbnail on the Mac to inspect capture info, integrity and the hash; import history is kept locally.

Stats & more

Stats, achievements and the details

Stats & achievements

Total space freed, monthly bars, day streak and best combo; four achievements that only count up — no countdown anxiety.

Instrument-paper design

Warm paper ground, hairline-thin numerals, one accent orange — light and dark themes, matching across iOS and macOS.

Bilingual + demo library

Interface in English, Chinese, or follow-system. A locally generated demo library lets you learn the ropes before granting photo access.

Privacy by design

No account. No server. No analytics.

Everything runs on your devices. Photos only ever travel between your iPhone and your own Mac — our servers can't leak your data, because there are none.

FAQ

Frequently asked

Can I recover deleted photos?

Yes. Deletes are always two-step: a round only marks photos, and nothing is deleted until you confirm in the grid review. Confirmed deletes go to the system's Recently Deleted album, recoverable for 30 days.

Do my photos get uploaded anywhere?

No. There is no account, no server and no third-party analytics. Mac archiving is peer-to-peer over your own Wi-Fi, encrypted with TLS.

What are the free plan's limits?

50 judgments a day with the "Random · All time" pool. Review, undo, Recently Deleted and stats are all included. Light users may never need to pay.

Can subscribers upgrade to Lifetime?

Yes, at a discount: active subscribers upgrade in-app for a top-up price (¥48 for yearly members). After upgrading you can cancel the subscription and keep Pro forever.

My iPhone can't find my Mac?

Make sure both devices share the same Wi-Fi, and allow Sweep under Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network on your iPhone. See the support page.

Will a huge library (tens of thousands) be slow?

No. The first scan is progressive — the newest few thousand photos are ready in seconds while the rest index in the background; thumbnails load tiered and never block on iCloud.
