Privacy Policy

Applies to Sweep (iOS) and Sweep Companion (macOS) · Effective August 29, 2026

TL;DR

Sweep collects no personal data. There is no account, no server and no third-party analytics SDK. Your photos never leave your own devices — the only transfer that ever happens is between your iPhone and your own Mac, over an encrypted local-network connection.

What we collect

Nothing. Sweep requires no registration, gathers no device identifiers, embeds no analytics, advertising or crash-reporting SDKs, and never sends your photos, metadata or usage records to the developer or any third party.

How photos are processed

Scanning & sorting happen entirely on-device via Apple's PhotoKit framework. No copies are made, nothing is uploaded.
Deleting uses the system delete API; photos move to the system Photos app's Recently Deleted album and remain recoverable for 30 days. Sweep cannot bypass this mechanism.
Favoriting writes the system Favorites flag in your photo library.
Mac archiving only runs when you start it: photos travel from your iPhone to your own Mac over a peer-to-peer, TLS-encrypted connection on your own Wi-Fi. No intermediary servers. The pairing key is stored locally on both devices only.

Data stored locally

Sorting progress, settings, the daily quota and the deletion ledger are stored on your device. The Mac app keeps its pairing credential in a private file inside its sandbox. Uninstalling the apps removes everything.

Permissions

Photo Library (read/write): to display, sort and delete photos. If denied, Sweep runs on a locally generated demo library.
Local Network: to discover your Mac on the same Wi-Fi and establish the encrypted direct connection, used solely for photo archiving.

Purchases

Sweep Pro subscriptions and the lifetime unlock are processed by Apple's App Store. We never see your payment information. Manage subscriptions and refunds through Apple.

Children's privacy

Sweep is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal information from anyone, children included.

Changes

Material changes to this policy will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
